IYT MASTER OF YACHTS 200 TONS OFFSHORE (POWER)

Prerequisite:

1.) The Candidate should be 18 years of age or over.

2.) Pre-requisite sea time experience must have been obtained within the last 5 years.

3.) 3000 nautical miles.

4.) 50 days on board at sea(1 day = 24 hours).

5.) 30 hours on watch at night underway at least 6 hours Watch Leader.

6.) Valid STCW Medical.

7.) VHF or Radio Operator Certificate.

8.) Have 5 passages of >60nm where they have been acting as a watch leader or skipper.

9.) STCW Basic Training 2010

10.) STCW SSATSDSD 2010

IYT MASTER OF YACHTS COASTAL/MATE 200 TONS (POWER)

Prerequisite:

1.) Candidates should have logged 30 days (24 hours), night watch keeping hours (at least 12) and 800 miles at sea. Verification of yachting experience must be signed by the skipper of the yacht on which the candidate was sailing. Candidates claiming sea time during times when they were acting as captain may sign their own entries, but will need independent proof that can be verified by IYT.
2.) STCW 2010 Basic Safety qualification including Proficiency in Maritime Security Awareness.
3.) VHF Radio Operator certificate.
4.) Copy of passport (visa page not required).
5.) 2 colour passport sized photos. Print candidates name on the back of both.
6.) A valid STCW or MCA medical examination signed and stamped by doctor.

7.) STCW Basic Training 2010

8.) STCW SSATSDSD 2010
9.) IYT Bare Boat Skipper or similar qualification would be a huge benefit.

IYT BAREBOAT SKIPPER COURSE (POWER)

The International Bareboat Skipper course is a five to Six day course. This course is not for beginners. This is a certificate of competency for those candidates who wish to train to command a vessel up to 24 metres in length, in fair weather and in sight of land.

Prerequisite:

1.) Candidates should be 16 years of age or over.

2.) Logged with proof of a total of 200 nautical miles and 10 days at sea 

3.) Must have taken IYT’s International Crew physical course with an IYT Partner School (candidates must either hold an IYT International Crew Certificate proving they have taken and passed the course, OR, a gold seal affixed to the IYT Boating & Sailing Passport signed by the school’s principal). Or they must hold an equivalent qualification from another training organisation.

4.) VHF Radio Operator certificate.
5.) Copy of passport (visa page not required).
6.) 2 colour passport sized photos. Print candidates name on the back of both.

IYT SUPERYACHT CHEF

The Superyacht Chef was written by John Harris, a veteran chef with almost 20 years of experience working and cooking aboard yachts. Initially John spent seven years working in restaurants within the UK before landing his first job on a 59′ (18m) sailboat heading for the Caribbean.

IYT VHF SRC

VHF Maritime Radio Training Course

The IYT Marine Communications course (Very High Frequency – Short Range Certificate) is recognised by the Republic of the Marshall Islands and accepted by the MCA. It is designed to ensure a thorough understanding of maritime radio communication at sea. It is intended for all marine environments and follows International standards.

The course provides VHF Radio and SRC training for the entire spectrum of VHF radio communications for recreational and professional boating. Students will learn how on board radios and handheld radios, EPIRBs, SARTs, AIS and DSC-enabled radios, are used effectively in marine communications.
