SAAP Becomes CPD UK Member Provider – First In-House Course Under Review
MAY 2025 – Cebu City, Philippines
Superyacht Academy in Asia and the Pacific Corp. (SAAP) is proud to announce its official status as a CPD UK Member Provider, effective June 2025. This milestone enhances SAAP’s commitment to delivering internationally benchmarked, professionally structured training programs for the superyacht and maritime sectors in the Asia-Pacific region.
As a member provider, SAAP has submitted its first in-house training program – the:
Superyacht Deck Rating Familiarization Course(Currently under development and pending CPD UK approval)
💡 Important Note:CPD-accredited training programs are designed for Continuing Professional Development purposes and do not constitute a seafarer license or Certificate of Competency (COC). These courses are not equivalent to internationally recognized licenses such as the IYT Certificate of Competency, which remains a requirement for roles involving navigational or operational responsibility on board.
However, CPD-accredited programs provide:
Structured professional development
Enhanced crew readiness and workplace knowledge
Added value for employment, especially for support roles and career advancement
📍 This effort further strengthens SAAP’s role in preparing Filipino crew for global yachting careers, by complementing formal licenses (e.g., IYT COC) with industry-relevant, non-license certifications.
⚠️ Only the Superyacht Deck Rating Familiarization Course has been submitted as of June 2025. Other in-house courses are still under internal review.
